This holder carries seven rolls of Wire Cloth, sizes as follows, viz.: 21, 26,28, 30, 32, 34 and 36 inches wide, can be placed on and fastened on top of counter or on the floor, and is 10 inches wide at the base. The wooden roller (as shown in cut) is pushed through center opening of the roll of Wire Cloth, and the cloth does not require re-rolling to be put on roller, and is easily unrolled by pulling cloth. Rolls of Wire Cloth in lengths of 50 or 100 feet can be placed on the roll¬ ers, and the cloth is kept in solid-roll-shape by the wrought-iron tension-roc! in front of each roll. The Holder is made in a durable manner, nicely finished, and increases the sale of Wire Cloth by the'attractive manner in which the cloth is displayed. The first year’s sales were beyond expectation, and numerous letters of testimonials of general satisfac¬ tion have been received from parties now using these Holders. It is intended for use in Retail Hardware Stores, and for simplicity, adaptability and cheapness in price, as well as for the small amount of room it occupies, can¬ not fail to commend itself as practical. Each one is securely packed in a rack, ready for shipment. Weight, 35 pounds. For sale by THE WHOLESALE HARDWARE TRADE. \ McCALLIP | PATENT TREE PROTECTOR. Substan t i a 1, Durable and Or¬ namental. Hosted by Google THE IRON AGE 9 IN BUYING Poultry Netting BE SURE AND SPECIFY FOR “THE TYLER NETTING,” and do not be induced to take a netting made of Galvanized IVire simply because it is a trifle cheaper. Netting made of galvanized wire is little better than if made of Plain wire, as the coating of spelter is so thin that it is liable to break off in twisting, leaving the wire perfectly bare. In netting made from galvanized wire the JOINTS ARE NOT SOLDERED, AND THE WATER SETTING IN THE OPEN SPACES IS HELD THERE, CAUSING RUST IN A SHORT TIME. The twists not being galvanized, or soldered together, the netting is flimsy compared with “THE TYLER” galvanized netting. “THE TYLER NETTINQ" is made from Number 19s wire before galvanizing, and heavily coated with pure spelter AFTER BEING TWISTED The joints are therefore THOROUGHLY SOLDERED, and the entire netting is RUST PROOF. In addition, THE TYLER NETTING LIES PERFECTLY FLAT and needs no stretching to put it up straight. THEREFORE WE SAY SPECIFY FOR “THE TYLER NETTING” Manufactured by THE W. S. THE WORKS MANAGER’S HANDBOOK OF MODERN RULES, TABLES AND DATA For Civil and Mechanical Engineers, Millwrights and Boiler Makers; Tool Makers, Machinists and Metal Workers; Iron and Brass Founders, etc., etc. BY WALTER S. HUTTON, CIVIL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEER. ' The Author having been in the habit of compiling Rules and Data for his own use in the construction of a great variety of modern Engineering Work, and having found his notes extremely useful, decided to publish them, after revising them to date, believing that a practical work, suited to the Daily Requirements of Modern Engineers, would be favorably received by the public. The rapid sale of the previous Editions, and the continued favor the Work has received, show that it has been of considerable service to Engineers. In issuing a Fourth Edition, many alterations and improvements have been made, including the following amongst other additions, viz. : New matter relating to Steam Engines—Gas Engines—Pumps—Water Supply, etc., etc. “ The author treats every subject from the point of view of one who has collected workshop notes for application in workshop practice, rather than from the theoretical or literary aspect, and the work contains a great deal of that kind of information which is gained only by practical experience, and is seldom written in books . 1 ’—The Engineer. “ The volume is an exceedingly useful one, brimful with engineers’ notes, memoranda and rules, and well worthy of being on every mechanical engineer’s bookshelf. There is valuable information on every page. It should be in every workshop manager’s library.'’— Mechanic# World . ___ Sent, Post-paid, on Receipt of Price, by DAVID WILLIAMS. - - - Publisher and Bookseller, 96-102 Reade Street New York.
