Girandon, Paris, France, is described In a/| recent issue of the Annales Industrielles, to ' whom we are indebted for the engravings on this page and the particulars. The engine, which may be heated by means of an ordinary gas-burner or a petro- leum lamp, consists of a sheet-iron cylinder, C, in which works a piston, P, of the same material, fitting loosely, so as to allow a clearance space all around of from about 0,04 to 0.08 inch.
