M., MECHANICSBURGH, PA. fhe advantages of fire-brick regenerative blast ovens being thoroughly appreciated hy those engaged in modern blast-furnace vractice, the important question now is to shtain the best and most efficient apparatus. fhe apparatus invented by the writer, and iescribed in this paper, is proposed as an improved form, retaining all the advantages f those now in use, with the additional ones f a cheaper construction and of being able furnish a very much hotter blast and to -ary and control the temperature thereof up the limit of the resistance of the refrac- tory materials composing the ovens.
